Catherine E. Toth is an award-winning writer, columnist, blogger, videographer, photograher and educator in Honolulu. Her work has appeared in The Honolulu Advertiser, Chicago Tribune, Honolulu Magazine, Outside and The Writer.
Her travel writing assignments have taken her to onsens in Japan, bars on Sunset Boulevard and spas on the Big Island.
Catherine earned her master's degree in journalism from Northwestern University in 1999. For about eight years, she worked as a full-time reporter, columnist, blogger and videographer at The Honolulu Advertiser. Currently, Catherine freelances features and sports stories, columns and a blog, The Daily Dish.
She also teaches journalism part-time at Hawai'i Pacific University.
Her photographs were recently featured in an art show titled "Extra, Extra!" at the Louis Pohl Gallery in Honolulu.
Catherine wrote her first young-adult novel, "One Good Wave," in about six months; she's still shopping for a publisher.
When she's not working — or writing — Catherine can be found somewhere in the Pacific Ocean, surfboard in tow.
